Here are the preseason rankings according to my friend Oliver's Elo-based model¹ (also discussed in the linked post).

His method has advantages² over my method³, but also has some disadvantages—the big one being that the model knows nothing about players who haven't played in the league before, while I often know a fair number of them.

1. I didn’t use his predictions in making my own

2. Mainly that it can crunch an inhuman amount of data!
